EGYPT ON THE BLUES SESSION

Friday 15th July and another live session with the Blues-Rock band Egypt. Guitar and smokey vocals from Eric Chipulina and solid bass from Alan Fish. It was a pleasure to sit back and enjoy this no nonsense blues rock duo with a mixture of original material and alternative takes on well know blues standards. The band was originally going to have the full line up but the drummer Peter Correa was unable to attend at short notice; however I did get the opportunity to play harmonica during two songs and loved it. I hope the audience did too... For more information on 'Egypt' go to www.egypt-blues.co.uk

Dave Beckett & Eddie Armer live on The Blues Session

A big thank you to Dave Beckett and Eddie Armer for another great live set on The Blues Session. Also thank you for allowing Heather and I to join in with harmonica and washboard! I'm not sure if this skiffle band is ready for a U.K tour but it was really good fun. Recordings of the shows are available please e-mail me for details: martin@thebluessession.co.uk (£1 cost is minimal to cover the CD and P&P)

BlueTouch on The Blues Session 1st July 2011

How can I possibly sum up BlueTouch? Well here goes... What a thoroughly nice bunch of chaps & a Chapess!
The picture says it all. I've not enjoyed a show so much for a long time and it did help that Merv Griffin (bass) was celebrating his X1st Birthday. So after coming out of the news at 9pm and Heather having read the weather, we presented Merv with a cake including candles. Fortunately we had the Surrey Fire brigade on standby and the ceremony went by without the need for first aid, although a few of us suffered with heat stroke.

The band performed without a hitch and the sound produced was superb. A very big thank you to Neil Sadler (guitar/ studio engineer) for assisting in getting the sound just right. www.myspace.com/nomachinestudios

If you have a chance to see BlueTouch playing live, I strongly recommend that you do. A lovely blend of new and old blues with a twist along the way.

The Bluetouch line up are (left to right) Neil Sadler (guitar), Alan Cleaves (guitar), Andrea-Maria (vocals), Merv Griffin (bass) and Hugh Lawrenson (drums). For more info go to www.bluetouch.co.uk
